Job Description

The Supervisor, Distribution is responsible for supervising the daily activities of the IC staff, including regular and temporary employees. Provide direct interaction with all team members involved in Cycle counting, audits, item set-up including weights and dims, RCCA, errors, and all other Inventory related issues. Responsible for leading Training & Process Improvement Program ( COMPETE) with motivating employees to perform at their highest levels to meet or exceed performance standards and meet or exceed cost and safety standards. This is a hands-on position, that will require a strong floor presence. Must adhere to the guidelines presented in the Zeiss Employee Handbook.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Obtain and review inventory documentation

  • Ensure information processed into Visual Manufacturing is appropriate and reporting discrepancies

  • Perform matching procedures to ensure invoices received agree to shipping documentation

  • Performing inventory verification of stock

  • Work closely with finance to ensure timely processing of inventory discrepancies

  • Ensure inventory is readily available within the Visual system to prevent delays in client invoicing

  • Reconcile month end inventory balances

  • Provide clear and concise support to the auditors as needed during our annual financial statement audit.

  • Provide on-going training and development for team members and works with employees to resolve problems at the earliest opportunity.

  • Reviews employee performance and works with management and Human Resources to create development or corrective action plans for employees as appropriate.

  • Improves processes through encouragement, support, and effective implementation of ideas from all levels.

  • Maintain updated records from planning for new item set-up

  • Work closely with Supply chain / Finance on Obsolete/Disposals

  • Audit to ensure correct part/material locations are being adhered to on distribution floor

  • Oversee Process Improvement coordination , Cost savings, and Waste reduction

Experience:

  • 1-2 years experience as a Clerk III or 4+ years relevant industry experience
  • Knowledge and previous experience with inventory software, and MS Office programs

Education

  • HSD / GED

Required Licensure /Certifications

  • Fork Lift Certification
