Overview

This position is located in North Stonington, CT as part of Manufacturing Engineering for the Columbia and Virginia Class programs. Manufacturing Engineering develops, researches, designs, and procures special tools, fixtures, and other manufacturing aids required to facilitate submarine construction, maintenance, and overhaul on all classes. D467 Manufacturing Engineering is seeking a highly motivated Project Coordinator Technical Aid (PCTA) to assist Management and Supervision in the planning, execution and documentation of team activities. Job assignments will be varied and include:

    Create and update product list spreadsheets on a weekly basis and host weekly meetings to obtain detailed product status from each supervisor
  • Submit product progressing weekly using the prescribed method for each program
  • Support the preparation of power point slides for major program reviews and executive updates
  • Provide oversight to Manufacturing Engineering Manager and Staff's calendars and schedules
  • Track all departmental commitments, maintaining and reporting status weekly
  • Monitor and track all departmental correspondence, including verification of accurate security labeling, proper peer or senior technical reviews, accuracy of transferring internal and external commitments and completing internal and external distribution
  • Prepare business travel arrangements for departmental staff
  • Coordinate on-site and off-site meetings, including preparing and issuing Agendas, identifying participants from all stakeholders, coordinating attendee's schedules, coordinating travel arrangements for EB personnel
  • Monitor and maintain Departmental Overhead Budget
  • Provide oversight to Cornerstone training for departmental staff and ensure compliance with company requirements
  • Provide oversight to Department Hiring efforts
  • Track Departmental labor charging
  • Generate business travel expense reports
  • Coordinate access to off-site facilities for departmental staff
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as onboarding, submitting service tickets and communication work orders, ordering department supplies and facility requests.
Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing or administrative roles
  • High School Diploma
  • Secret security clearance

Preferred:

  • Associate degree or certificate program completion
Skills

Successful candidate must possess strong computer and communication skills, flexibility, excel proficiency, interpersonal skills, a strong team commitment, be customer focused, high energy and the ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff. Sensitivity to confidential human resource information (CHRI) matters may be required.

  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • MS Word -basic skills of editing, formatting and use of track changes as well as advance skills with developing and formatting tables, flow charts, and block diagrams
  • MS Excel -basic skills of building data tables, developing charts, manipulating table and chart formats to use in reporting documents, as well as advance skills with developing and maintaining databases using calculation functions and automatic updating features
  • MS Power Point -basic skills with developing and updating slides/slide master and inserting and formatting information extracted from external documents as well as advance skills creating tables and charts to be embedded, and developing custom slide presentations
  • MS Project -basic skills of developing detailed schedules with activities and associated start and finish dates as well as advance skills developing predecessor and successor linked activities, resource loading and activity progress tracking
  • In depth knowledge and use of CONCUR
  • Knowledge and use of Commitments and Commitment Report Databases
  • Ability to learn and use iCIMS
  • Proven performance for delivering products with accuracy and timeliness
