Job Description
SEA CORP’s Surface/Undersea Technology Integration business area is seeking a financial analyst with minimum 5 years of applicable work experience. Our business area specializes in shipboard alteration engineering design, analysis, production, testing, and documentation for Department of Defense (DoD) and industry partners.

Systems Engineering Associates Corporation (SEA CORP) is a veteran-owned business, based in Middletown, Rhode Island. Founded in 1981, we have been providing services to the Navy for over 35 years.  Our core business is providing systems, software, and hardware engineering services, as well as test and evaluation services to the U.S. Navy, chiefly for submarine electronic systems.

Job Summary:
This Financial Analyst position will work with managers to develop project plans, estimates, and resource allocation, and forecast project funding, as well as annual forecasting, biweekly and monthly financial tracking and analysis, and technical reporting. The Financial Analyst will identify and present financial risk and provide risk mitigation solutions. The Financial Analyst will ensure financial planning is healthy and profitable and aligns with business objectives.

Responsibilities:
  • Biweekly financial and technical review, analysis, and reporting on current financial data
  • Conduct thorough research of historical financial data as necessary
  • Biweekly financial review with project leads
  • Prepare estimates for labor, travel and materials
  • Prepare cost projections and oversee project budgeting
  • Compare anticipated with actual results and identify areas of improvement
  • Coordinate with the Business Area Manager and finance group on long-term planning
  • Identify, present and mitigate risk with project leads
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • Proven work experience as a Financial Analyst or similar role
  • Financial professional practiced in the unique nature of managing projects within the scope of DoD contracts, preferred.
  • Expertise in MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using advanced formulas)
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to present financial data using detailed reports and charts
  • Demonstrable strategic thinking skills
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret level DoD clearance is required.
