SEA CORP is seeking an entry level, full-time Computer Technician in Middletown, RI. The hired candidate will provide technical assistance and support to computer system users and answer questions or resolve computer problems for clients in person, via telephone, or from remote location. They will read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems. They may provide assistance concerning the use of computer hardware and software, including printing, installation, word processing, electronic mail, and operating systems. Responsibilities include but are not limited to supporting and maintaining user account information, documenting maintaining, and upgrading hardware and software systems, overseeing the daily performance of computer systems, and installing and performing minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment. Other responsibilities involve maintaining, analyzing, troubleshooting, and repairing computer systems, hardware, and computer peripherals, referring major hardware or software problems or defective products to vendors or technicians for service and other duties or tasks as assigned. This position will have regular business hours.
Required Education and Experience:
The ideal candidate must be self-motivated, customer-service oriented, and have knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming. They will also possess knowledge of transmission, broadcasting, switching, control, and operation of telecommunications systems. The hired candidate must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be able to juggle tasks and projects based upon priority and deadline, maintain focus, and utilize creative thinking in solving problems. They must have knowledge and experience with systems operations and control.
An Associate’s degree or its equivalent and 2-5 years of experience in the field is required. Network certification is a plus.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD Secret level security clearance.
