Job Summary:

The SEACORP team working at the NUWC Weapon Analysis Facility (WAF) in Newport, RI, is looking for a full-time software test engineer to support the WAF Modeling and Simulation Test Director. The software engineer will run hardware-in-the-loop and emulator simulations, support daily integration testing, verify software bug resolution and support test development in preparation for Verification and Validation (V&V). Candidate should be familiar with overall software development processes (WAF has just adopted the Agile process) and have the ability to analyze impacts of software application upgrades. This position will have Technical Lead responsibilities and will involve frequent interaction and collaboration with team members and customers.
 
Education and Experience:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a field concentration in Computer Science is required. Also required is a minimum 3 – 7 years of experience.
 
It is required that candidates be proficient in data analysis and programming as well as possess strong verbal and written communication skills. Ideal candidates would be self-motivated and have experience with project management and the ability to work under pressure. Candidates must be able to utilize creative thinking in problem solving. The hired employee will be expected to use PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and possibly Matlab, to document and present test results. Familiarity with Netbeans, JAVA and some scripting experience is a plus.
 

U.S. citizenship and current DOD Secret clearance are required.
