The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) will provide direct support to the Facility Security Officer by performing basic clerical functions as well as administering more complex, yet routine processes and providing assistance for non-routine processes/events as necessary. The ideal candidate will work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with a high level of attention to detail, effective organizational skills, the ability to adapt to constantly changing demands, excellent customer service skills, and demonstrate capability to take on new and unfamiliar tasks.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to: logging incoming and outgoing Visitor Access Requests; tracking and processing long term visitor access to buildings and networks; badge control and inventory; tracking annual refresher briefings, trainings, and reinvestigation to include sending notifications to employees; assisting with incoming and outgoing employees; maintaining security department databases; escorting guests in and out of the facility and sharing responsibility for reception duties, among other tasking. This position has the potential for future growth opportunities.
Experience and Education
Required qualifications are an intermediate-level use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook and internet proficiency; the ability to learn new functions and programs/systems quickly; High School Diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate) plus 1-3 years of administrative or security related duties.
Preferred qualifications are: experience with FileMakerPro, JPAS and related security systems, Microsoft Access, and Microsoft SharePoint; an Associate’s Degree in a related field and five or more years of security experience. A currently active (or inactive for fewer than two years) U.S. Secret clearance.
High School Diploma (or GED/High School Equivalence Certificate) plus 1-3 years of administrative or security related duties. Candidates must have the ability to obtain and/or maintain a Secret level DoD clearance.
