SEA CORP has an opening for a Business Area Manager (BAM) to be based out of Middletown, RI beginning January 2, 2018. Responsibilities include acting as BAM for the Virginia Class (VC) Test and Evaluation (T&E), Columbia Class, VC Hardware interface re-engineering areas and VC/SEAWOLF Class ACCM project area in addition to acting as backup STR and supporting the Contracting Officers’ Representatives (COR) and PIs for contracts. This position will also be responsible for the delivery of progress reports. The BAM will interface with existing customers in the areas of Columbia Class Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems (NPES). This position will work to define all current and future tasking, staffing, and focus on business expansion with current customers as well as assist in the development of new business opportunities. The BAM will provide direct management of staff personnel consisting of professional, technical, and administrative functions and ensure accurate and transparent financial tracking for all projects.
Candidates will have an understanding of submarine NPES at the program level, including platforms (VA/OR, 688, 6881, SSBN, SSGN) and payloads (ADCAP, Tomahawk, future payloads). Candidates will know how NUWC provides tasking and funding to its suppliers, government contracting, as well as have knowledge of NAVY COR responsibilities and STR responsibilities. Candidates will have the knowledge and ability to work with Engineers and Technicians as well as have the ability to develop systems that meet Government Program Requirements.
Candidates will have experience with government acquisition policies and procedures contract terms, monitoring/tracking financial progress and an understanding of government and security requirements. The ideal candidate will be able to develop plans of actions with milestones as well as develop independent government cost estimates and track and store data requirements. The candidate will have excellent communications skills and the desire and capability to grow the business area.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (masters preferred) in a Technical Field and 20+ years of experience in program and personnel management.
