Job Description
SEA CORP is accepting applications for Trainer Systems Engineers, also known as lead Trainer Systems Analysts, to work with NUWC Newport Code 25. NUWC Code 25 provides Surface Training Development, System Engineering, Test & Evaluation (T&E) Software Engineering, Hardware Engineering, Configuration Management (CM), Quality Assurance (QA), Technical and Engineering Documentation Development, Training/Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) Development, and Program Support to numerous sponsors for Surface Trainers.

Founded in 1981, we have been providing services to the Navy for over 35 years.  Our core business is providing systems, software, and hardware engineering services, as well as test and evaluation services to the U.S. Navy, chiefly for submarine electronic systems.

Job Summary:
The Trainer Systems Engineers will oversee the creation of hybrid Trainer software, web, and hardware products from initial specifications to final rollout and maintenance, with the ability to interface with Fleet, Government, and Contractor personnel. Travel, including day trips and overnight trips, may be required for these positions.

Skills and Experience:
The hired candidates must have familiarity with Training Systems and/or Classroom Learning Management Systems and activities such as Interface Management, Relational Database, Integration and Test, Systems Engineering, etc. An understanding of the Code 25 Trainer responsibilities and operational prototypes, system and subsystem design is also highly desirable. Cybersecurity knowledge/experience with posture transitions and IAT/IAM Certifications is a plus.

Analysis/Design
  • Assisting in generating and reviewing surface trainer curriculum
  • Participating in Trainer Test Events, System Assessments
  • Participation in Trainer engineering meetings
  • Support for Trainer Integration activities including review of Government Furnished Information (GFI) for technical quality.
Development
  • Development of Trainer Operational Prototypes
  • Modeling support with commercial tool sets for Training Applications
    • 3D modeling of mechanical objects
    • Lesson authoring / Learning Management System - provide classroom Computer Courseware interactive lessons adhering to and compliant with Sharable Content Object Reference Model (SCORM).
    • Lesson authoring using nGRAIN to produce both instruction and step-by-step interaction including simulated assembly and disassembly, also SCORM compliant.
    • Implementation of immersive simulation using gaming engines, specifically gaming engines that can integrate with 3D models, e.g. Unity.
Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline. Advanced military technical training (e.g. Navy “C” School) and 7 years of experience in military systems (e.g. service aboard a naval ship) can be substituted for a bachelor’s degree, and 3 years of professional experience in systems engineering. The ideal candidate will have five to ten years of experience developing training packages and/or LMS classroom training.

U.S. Citizenship and eligibility for a Secret level security clearance are required; a current clearance is a plus.
